The UK PBC audit is a collaborative project between the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), the British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL), UK-PBC and the PBC foundation.
The audit is represented in all four constituent countries of the UK, and will be the first national audit of PBC to benchmark the current management of PBC in the UK against the BSG audit standards and inform targeted improvement in the delivery of PBC-related health care.
After a short delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK PBC audit began collecting data from January 2021, with over 2500 anonymised records from 60 NHS Trusts submitted in the first 5 months. The audit is supported by local clinical and audit departments to achieve significant improvement against the published BSG standards.
The current audit round recruitment will continue until the end of December 2021. If you are interested to know more, please email the audit team: uk.pbcaudit@nhs.net
